The harvest festival is a local event during which villagers express gratitude for good harvest.
Before the festival, in August, groups of women prepare harvest crowns which are weaved on metal frames (prepared by men). In the region, the crowns are made following one of the two methods (with either the ears of corn or the grains). Competition between the villages is stiff so the crowns are always exceptional and meticulously made. Harvest processions go through the villages displaying the harvest crowns. Mounted on the procession vehicles there are also theme installations which provide a humorous commentary on the life of the village and the country. Next, the inhabitants choose the most beautiful crowns and harvest wreaths as well as the most interesting procession vehicle.
