The palace park of the Centre for the Treatment of Neuroses in Moszna
The park in Moszna is a landscaped park, without specified boundaries. It directly merges with the surrounding fields, meadows and forest. Only the main axis of the whole establishment is geometric. Starting from the gladiator gate, it leads through the red oak alley and then, further through the horse-chestnut alley, to the palace. Then, it turns into a linden alley with symmetric canals running on both sides. The axis ends at the basis of the former monument to Hubert von Tiele Winckler. In the background, there is a necropolis of the former palace owners. Along the canals, there are beautiful azaleas and rhododendrons in several colourful varieties. On the eastern side of the linden alley, there is a lake with a picturesque Canadian hemlock planted islet (called by the owners Easter Island), which can be reached by a small Chinese-style bridge. The varied, old stands of trees, comprised of domestic and exotic species, provide a major visitor attraction. Their size and age as well as their natural lushness stimulate the appearance of plant communities in habitats, which to a certain extent, were created artificially. The existing undergrowth abounds with plant species, which due to their seasonal variability make the park more attractive. The stands of trees as well as the open spaces create an area of relaxation in Moszna. The palace and park complex in Moszna is the most valuable complex of this type in the Opolskie Province. The regular, geometric garden accompanying the 18th century palace was modernised a bit earlier than the whole structure. The preserved documents of 1868 suggest that the improvement of the aesthetic qualities had been the work of Hubert von Tiele Winckler. 100 ha was designated for the park.
