Annual, public event open for everyone, organised under the slogan: “Strawberry – fruit of our fields”. The main idea behind the fete is to celebrate the end of strawberry harvest on fields located in the area of Niwnica and the neighbouring villages. The fete offers an opportunity for joint family entertainment. It also constitutes an occasion for strawberry growers to sum up their achievements and exchange experiences. The fete is organised at sport grounds of the Niwnica village with a beautiful view of mountain ranges of the Sudety Foreland. The fete is attended by inhabitants and strawberry planters from Niwnica and the neighbouring villages, as well as by tourists. Visitors exchange experiences during the exhibition and sale of new varieties of seedlings, fruit and plant protection products. They are also invited to take part in cooking competitions and to taste the most delicious strawberry desserts. The event offers additionally a number of sport competitions and disciplines for children and adults. They may try their hand at family ski race on grass and at tug-of-war. Anglers are invited to enter angling competition called “Catch a bream and let off steam”. In the meantime visitors may take a britzka ride to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the village, and children may try riding a pony. After closing all competitions and awarding prizes, visitors are invited to a dancing party held in the open air offering live band accompaniment. Throughout the event, organizers conduct a game of tombola as well as provide a buffet with drinks, grill dishes, bread with dripping (delicious), and sweets.
