The "Stobrawsko-Turawskie Woods" Protected Landscape Area is a woodland complex and the largest protected landscape area in the region. It was established in 1988 and stretches from the border of the Lower Silesia province (near Namys?ów and Brzeg) to the border with the Silesia province (between Strzelce Opolskie and Kluczbork). A full description of the "Stobrawsko-Turawskie Woods" Protected Landscape Area can be found in the Regulation No. 0151/P/16/2006 on protected landscape areas issued by the Province Governor on 8 May 2006 (Official Journal of the Opolskie Province, No. 33, item 1133). It is the largest protected landscape area in the region; a vast, very fragmented woodland complex 25 km wide and 70 km long, stretching from the border with the Lower Silesia province (near Namys?ów and Brzeg) to the border with the Silesia province (between Strzelce Opolskie and Kluczbork). Many protected plant species were identified in the area. The most valuable among them include the floating watermoss, white water lily, yellow pond lily, common spotted orchid, Daphne mezereum, water chestnut, sweet woodruff, martagon lily, lesser butterfly orchid, common twayblade and nine-leaved toothwort. Woodland areas with water reservoirs are excellent habitats for numerous animal species. In addition to the strongly represented game species (deer, wild boars, fallow deer and foxes), other species that have been identified here include the snipe, corncrake, black kite, common rosefinch, black stork, little owl and bank swallow.
