The Silesian Wedding ceremony has been taking place since 2000 and is aimed at cultivation of old traditions. During this two-day event the old Silesian wedding is reconstructed in detail. Specially for this occasion, the organisers revived a book of wedding songs and ditties and prepared the bride's and the bridegroom's outfits. So far the event has been celebrated twice, under the names: ”The young couple get married” and ”The fireman gets hitched”. The theme of the upcoming celebration in 2009 is ”The Silesian Wedding – The Old man takes to wife”
