The “Silesia by bicycle” route No. 2 is one of 30 routes in the area of the Silesian Province. The route connects Katowice with the existing system of cycle routes “Opawice” near the state border close to G?ogówek, G?ubczyce, Krnov and Jeseniky. The route runs through Orzesze, Rybnik, Racibórz, Kietrz, Baborów to G?ubczyce. The Racibórz – G?ubczyce section often passes by numerous attractions. It runs through the picturesque and interesting areas of the Rybnicki Plateau, the Odra Valley and the G?ubczycki Plateau. Route No. 2 runs mainly on local asphalt roads with small traffic. A section of the route covers also dirt roads. Along the cycle route there are many tourist attractions: castles, monasteries and chapels, historic churches, historic regional architecture, historic transport routes, historic parks and alleys, natural monuments, roadside crosses, springs and water mills.
