The Opava Mountains
The longest trail offering an opportunity to explore the most important places of interest in the Opava Mountains.
The trail runs from G?ucho?azy, over the tops of the Przednia, ?rednia and Tylna Kopa mountains, villages of Skowronków and Jarno?tówek, over the tops of the Biskupia Kopa, Srebrna Kopa, Zamkowa Góra mountains, villages of Pokrzywna, Nowa Wie? and D?bowiec to the town of Prudnik. The trail encompasses the following sections: The red trail 7.1 km (route No. 2) from the Biskupia Kopa mountain to the village of Pokrzywna, running over the tops of the Srebrna Kopa and Zamkowa Góra mountains, leads along the highest ridge of the Opava Mountains. It starts at the viewing tower on Biskupia Kopa and guides along the Polish and Czech border onto the peak of Srebrna Kopa (785 m.). Further on it runs along the Z?odziejska ?cie?ka path across the Prze??cz Pod Zamkow? Gór? pass (Srebrna 508 m.) to the peak of the Zamkowa Góra (571 m.) mountain. From there it descends towards the village of Pokrzywna, over the top of the Szyndzielowa Kopa mountain (533 m.). On the trail hikers will see the remains of an old hostel, defences of an old castle, and magnificent views of the Zlatohorska Vrchovina mountain. In winter, the peak of Zamkowa Góra offers a view of the Biskupia Kopa and Pasterska Góra mountains, as well as the Prze??cz pod Kop? pass. The red trail 4.4 km (route No. 3) from the Biskupia Kopa mountain to Jarno?tówek over the top of Grzebie?. The trail is the shortest and the steepest descent from Biskupia Kopa. It starts at the viewing tower at the peak of Biskupia Kopa and runs further on along the state border and along steep paths of Grzebie?. The trail runs downhill crossing a high-growing coniferous forest with individual beeches and come out on the edge of a forest felling called Sercówka. Next, through the Bolkowa Dolina valley, passing the bridges over the River Bolkówka and the Z?oty Potok stream, the trail reaches Jarno?tówek and the crossroads with the figure of St. John Nepomucen. Along the trail there are vantage points and two huge anthills located close to the overgrown Sercówka felling.
