These preserves are a product from the Eastern Borderland (Kresy Wschodnie), the area of Terespol. Washed plums are stoned and put in sugar, thus being prepared for frying. A bay leaf should be added just before frying. Plums are fried without mixing, only with slight shaking. In the past they were pasteurised in a special, dedicated stone pot and baked in a bread oven. In 2003, the preserves were nominated to the “Per?a” prize. For several years they have been entered in the Pozna? fairs, and exhibited during harvest festivals at the district and provincial levels, as well as during national harvest festival in Cz?stochowa.
