Palace and Park Complex

designation:

Z?bowice - Radawie Municipality

Detailed description:

Balthazar von Aulok was a man rich enough to buy a bit of prestige without impairing the financial interests of his family. He purchased an historic palace in Radawie together with its vast garden and a pond. His family’s prosperity finished in 1945 with the first Red Army troops entering the Opolskie region. Von Auloks escaped the horrors of the war and the palace faced an ordeal. It managed to get through the most difficult years though. Not only did its garden and pond survive, but it expanded to include a small zoo with friendly fallow deer, wild boar, roe deer, and pheasants. The wild animals live half-free and are a true attraction especially for children who can watch them from a safe distance.
