In 2006 over 200 entrepreneurs from all over Poland and from abroad registered their participation in OPOLAGRA 2006, an agricultural exhibition organized by DLG AgroFood (Pozna?), a subsidiary of German Agricultural Association DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) in Frankfurt am Main. The fair was an opportunity to present a wide range of modern agricultural machines as well as equipment for growing plants and professional animal husbandry. In addition, forestry companies were represented for the first time. The theme of the fair in 2006 was Bioenergy. What makes Opolagra a major exhibition in south-western Poland also popular in neighbouring regions is the presence of all leading producers from the sector of agricultural machines. The fair is all the more interesting for its demonstrations of machines in action – visitors can assess their strong points and capabilities watching their work in practice. About 40 – 50 machines for soil cultivation and plant protection were presented. Opolagra 2006 was also the place where the first stabilisation track for sprinkler arms was constructed. Visitors certainly enjoyed a professionally prepared event and a competent commentary. Demonstrations of agricultural machines in action were held every day. In addition to the wide range of products exhibited, there was an excellent conference of specialists with contributions from experienced farmers and agricultural advisers from Poland and Germany.
