Nysa K?odzka – a river of changing character, flowing through lakes Paczkowskie, Otmuchowskie and Nyskie.
Nysa K?odzka (in Czech: Kladská Nisa, in German: Glatzer Neisse) – a left tributary of the Odra river. It originates in the ?nie?nik Massif, on the slopes of the Trójmorski Wierch mountain. In its upper course, the river uses a natural runoff canal created by a ground subsidence called Rów Górnej Nysy. Then the river flows through K?odzko, where it cuts through the Bardo Mountains near Bardo, thus creating the scenic Nysa K?odzka Gorge, one of the most impressive sights of interest in the Sudety mountains. The river winds its way through the Bardo Mountains in a manner characteristic for a lowland river. After it leaves the mountains, the river makes a sudden bend to the east and flows through the Carpathian Foothills to reach the Silesian Lowland in Nysa. It flows through the Lower Silesian and Opolskie provinces. In its upper course, the river runs fast creating waterfalls, across the lowland it meanders strongly. The river had frequently bursts its banks and that is why in the 20th century, two retention reservoirs were constructed in the vicinity of Paczków and Otmuchów (Lake Otmuchowskie) and Nysa (Lake Nyskie). In the early twentieth century the third reservoir was built – Lake Paczkowskie. For anglers – it is an underestimated, demanding, scenic, wild and almost mountain river! It flows through fields, and, at times, even forests. Following a route along its banks, tourists become isolated from the world spoilt by modern civilisation and take delight in the wild nature around. The basic fishing techniques are flow fishing, heavy ground and obviously spinning. Using these methods, anglers can fish for such species as chub, ide, barbell, eel, gudgeon, dace, nase, perch, pike. The rivers has a fast current, stony and gravel bed.
