Early marsh orchid site
The site is a wet meadow in Je?owa that covers an area of approx. 10 ha and has many well-developed meadow and reed communities. The commonest plant species occurring here include the early marsh orchid Dactylorhiza incarnata, western marsh orchid D. majalis, bogbean Menyanthes trifoliata, marsh cinquefoil Comarum palustre, brook thistle Cirsium rivulare, common cottongrass Eriophorum angustifolium, carnation sedge Carex panicea, water horsetail Equisetum fluviatile and others. The site with the peat meadows surrounding it constitutes an ecosystem that is unique not only in the municipality and district, but also in the whole province. The meadows are also a habitat for protected animals.
