International Championships of Water Jet Ball WASSERBALL
Matches are played in a body of water between six-person teams of fire fighters. Three persons from each team stand on the opposite shores of the pond. Using motopumps and fire hoses, competitors have to place a large rubber ball in the opponent’s goal. The match consists of two 10-minute halves. Teams of fire fighters participating in the championships come from Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland and the Netherlands. The championships arise great interest and emotions among spectators, while for the teams of firefighters taking part in the competition it is an excellent form of improving their skills and fitness. The championships have become an inherent part of the calendar of events in the Opolskie Province.
