Harvest festivals are held on an annual basis upon completion of the crop-gathering work in each village, community, municipality and district. They are celebrated in a very solemn way as thanksgiving for the collected crops. For the special church service the inhabitants prepare harvesting crowns, made of corn, herbs, flowers and fruits. Every year there is a competition for the most beautiful crown. To celebrate the occasion also whole villages are decorated - on the verges of the village and in front of farms one can see big straw figures representing different characters
