Czarny Dó?
Detailed description:
Legend has it that a long time ago, back in heathen times, the Ma?a Panew flowed in the old river bed. As time went by, it left the river bed which became a place of outstandingly beautiful wild nature called the Czarny Dó?. Visitors were few and far between, because the place was believed to be cursed. Although no one could say when that happened, everyone agreed that a long time ago a pair of newly weds drowned there. Had the horses drawing their carriage bolted? Had the wheels slid on the muddy bank? No one knew. It was common knowledge, however, that the Czarny Dó? had become the grave of the young couple. Decades passed, then centuries, and nobody thought of improving it. As a result, one of the last wild spots in the municipality has survived up to the present day. It serves as a reminder of those bygone days when it was still easier to come across a moose or a wolf than a human. Today the Czarny Dó? no longer scares anyone. On the contrary, anglers and the Association of Krasiejów Enthusiasts have developed the banks covered with alders and age-old oaks. The place has become a venue for spring picnics, fairs, and family events.
