It is a working basalt quarry. Ligota Tu?owicka is located on the border of a tertiary neotectonic fault, which has caused intensive volcanic activity. The volcanic processes have contributed to the formation of unique basalts in Ligota. They are comparable with the volcanic origins of Mount St. Ann. The thickness of basalts from Ligota Tu?owicka is estimated at 20-25 m.
