short text:

Idyllically set at the very heart of the Carinthian Nockberge mountains, the Lamprechtalm - farmed during the summer months at an altitude of 1,700 m - offers an experience for all of your senses. In these parts of the Alpine caldera (open to the southeast) the lovely countryside of the Nockberge greets its visitors with a blanket of gentle warmth and a feeling of security. Soft alpine pastures with a wide range of herbal fragrances and the rich colours of alpine grass and flowers have the effect of a combined aroma and colour therapy and invite you to go on “conscious” hiking tours. The two mountain lakes with crystal-clear water just below the alpine chalet radiate deep tranquillity. The destination of our walk is the Felsensitz (seat on a cliff), where you’ll enjoy an incredible view, like from an eagle’s aerie!

detailed description:

Hut with tradition. You take the car and head southeast from Lamprechthof in the direction of Papsttratte (a Kneipp water centre) for half an hour; after the signpost Lamprechthütte keep on going straight ahead. Twice you will have to open and close a pasture gate. Leave your car right by the mountain hut.
If the Lamprechthütte were able to talk, it would most certainly tell you a thing or two about what happened over its last 300 years of existence. Up to this day, the mountain chalet has lost nothing of its genuine nostalgic splendour and flair of past times.

Profound insights and distant vistas. To get to the Felsensitz, follow the path from the hut until you reach a crutch. Take the path on the right and you will finally arrive at a wooden door next to a huge tree. Behind it you will discover a raised hide on top of a cliff, which will reward you with an incredible view over the surrounding mountains, valleys and lakes. While you gaze towards the distance try to widen your view to the inside as well and let your mind wander. Close your eyes and breathe in and out deeply for a while. Stay here as long as you like. The same route will take you back to the Lamprechthütte where you can stop for refreshments. We deeply recommend you taste the fried mountain salmon.

Sounds for the soul. During the summer months, our mother Krimhilde farms the alpine pasture with around one hundred livestock. Some of the horses, goats, sheep, pigs and calves like being petted. Guests are treated to mouth-watering specialities like milk fresh from the cow, homemade butter, delicious cheeses and all sorts of other dairy products. If you fish and gut the trout yourself, our mother will prepare you a meal of “miller-style trout” on her wood-fired stove with homemade herbal butter and fresh farmer’s bread. If you’re lucky, the landlord will play a genuine Carinthian folksong on his accordion or the guitar. If you like, you can join in with the music using musical instruments you made yourself. In these parts, we enjoy playing music because it brings body and soul in line.

Lamprechtalm: a truly memorable experience for anyone who has ever experienced or walked through this amazing fairytale alpine landscape!
From the car park follow the same route back to our farm.
