The paragliding season lasts all year round - all that's needed are favourable weather conditions, meaning suitable wind direction, mostly sunny weather without turbulences and bora wind. Istria have five locations - Kaštelir near Novigrad, excellent for beginners; Raspadalica, in the north of Istrian peninsula; Brgud on U?ka; Veli Mlun; Zavoj; Laniš?e; Žbevnica and the very peak of U?ka, are suitable also for hang-gliding, this still undiscovered extreme sport in Istria. All starting positions are located in such a way that one can, regardless of the wind, take off from any of those within a diameter of 30 kilometers.
