Olives are grown on the hillsides and terraces made by the hard-working local population. The Istrian olive oil is produced from more then 20 different species of olive. The most popular and autochthon species are: buža, ?rnica, karbonica, moražola and Istarska bjelica which gives the special proud to our Istrian growers. The high quality and aromatic flavour of the istrian oil derivates from the northern geografical position of Istria.


Since the time of the Romans and the Greecs Istria has been a well known producer of excelent olive oil. The oldest olive in Istria is situated in the island of Brijuni and is 1200 years old. This is a real documents of a very long tradition of olive oil producment in istria County.
