Korfantów

short description:

Grand 450-year-old oak tree

detailed description:

In the palace park in Korfantów, near the municipal sports stadium, there is a huge oak tree. Its age is estimated at about 450 years. A sessile oak, grand and beautiful, called by the local people “Bartek from Korfantów” (“Bartek” is the name of the oldest oak tree in Poland) is still waiting for its own name. It grows on a small hill near the forest track. Its huge spreading boughs climb as if open arms. For hikers it is a fantastic place for rest and a moment of reflection where they can sit down in the forest peace and dream.
