Byczyna is one of the oldest towns in Silesia. It has a fully preserved medieval urban layout and a beautiful market square over which towers a magnificent town hall.

The most interesting historical monuments include: medieval urban layout; town walls with the Sand Tower, Polish And German Gates, and moat, 15th/16th centuries; town hall from 15th/16th centuries, rebuilt in the Baroque-Classicist style, together with the surrounding houses; granary, 19th century; mill complex, early 19th century (mill, storehouse, residential building).
