Detailed description:
At present entirely renovated, the monument is located at the central square of the town of Jarno?tówek. It originated from veneration of John Nepomucen developed mainly by the Jesuits, who aimed partially at weakening the strong following of John Hus in Bohemia. John Nepomucen was canonised in 1729 and became the patron of bridges, crossings, the guardian of family life, as well as the patron of good confession, fame and honour. Nowadays he has been recognised as the patron of lifeguards.
