International Woodcutters’ Competition

The International Woodcutters’ Competition has been taking place for 8 years in the village of Bobrowa, Rudniki Municipality
Woodcutters’ Competition is organised within the “Rural revival” programme under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Marshal of the Opolskie Province, Province Governor, General Manager of State Forests in Katowice, Head of the Olesno district and Head of the Rudniki Municipality. The competition is organised by the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Bobrowa in association with: Rudniki Municipality Office, Culture Centre in Rudniki, District Office in Olesno and the Marshal’s Office in Opole. Competing teams come from Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France and Poland. During day one they compete in the forest in precision tree cutting and felling, while during day two of the competition they compete in the sports ground in: saw preparation – composite log cutting – cutting precision – branching.
