Natural forests
Gorzów ?l?ski Municipality
Areas with natural forests of high nature and landscape value.
The municipality of Gorzów ?l?ski is an area where fragments of rich deciduous forests have been preserved. The most valuable among them are the deciduous forests (oaks, hornbeams and beeches) with the headsprings and waterfalls of the meandering Skro?ski Stream near Skro?sko. These forests have been designated as European protected and endangered habitat, where, in addition to rare forest communities of beeches and marshy meadows, one can encounter numerous endangered plant species such as orchids, giant horsetail, great masterwort and others. The natural beech forests north-east of Koz?owice with over 100-year-old trees are also highly valuable.
