Kolanowice’s greatest treasure is the old wooden church of St. Barbara lovingly cared for by all inhabitants.

Detailed description:

On 19 December 1812 the church of St. Barbara in Kolanowice, transferred from another location, was ceremoniously consecrated. The church is a horizontal log construction with barrel vaulting in the chancel and beam-framed ceiling. The choir is extended covers half of the side wall. The choir parapet and gallery are decorated with 12 scenes from the life of St. Barbara (from ca 1700). Outside, the church is surrounded by arcades. The main altar comes from 1680 (Baroque). It contains statues of Saints Francis, Anthony, Hedwig and Michael the Archangel. The upper part of the altar contains a painting of the Crucifixion. The two side altars are dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Bartholomew respectively. St. Barbara church in Kolanowice is one of the churches in the Opole Silesia that constitutes the so-called wooden church buildings trail.
