Cleanse your spirit. From our farm you drive four kilometres to the Waldschwimmbad in Mauthen where you can park your car. On the left-hand side, the trail will take you along the Valentindamm, a route with vistas of lovely countryside and gorgeously tended gardens. After a leisurely 20-minute walk, sit down on a forest bench by the Felsentor, the rocky gateway. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths – the tour of the gorge is intended to energise you, so first of all I recommend you take some time to reflect the things which burden you in your everyday life. Formulate a few of these things in your mind so that you can let go of them. Anything you no longer want to carry with you will remain outside of the rock gateway.

Refresh your body. Now with this in mind, step through the rock gateway and open up to the flow of all things new, positive and light. Were you successful? If it doesn’t feel quite right yet, just try again!
Now a good hour’s walk is ahead of you where you can give your senses new input: Listen to the music of the water, find your centre on the gently swinging rope bridges, dip your bare feet into the energising, cool crisp water and use it to clean your hands and face. Once you have reached the spring – the Schwarzbrunnquelle – make sure to taste this invigorating gift of Nature.

Before the start of the adventurous Klabautersteig, turn round and take the same route back to the car park where you’ll discover a nice place to stop and have a good meal or refreshments on the terrace by the swimming pool, a forest idyll. In summer, make sure to take your swimming suit with you and cool off in the pool!
