Starting out from our farm, you head south by taking the forest path that leads gently uphill. After about 15 minutes you’ll reach a spring in the middle of the woods gurgling und bubbling underneath the roots of spruce trees and over mossy cushions. Now if something is troubling you, use this spot and find words for your problem. In a ritual, place the problem into the palms of your hands and rinse your hands by the spring. Run your other hand over your hands and arms several times because, as you know, water not only cleanses our body but also our mind and soul.
Continue along the path uphill to a vantage point with a glorious view of the Veitsberg mountain on the opposite side of the valley. This is one of Carinthia’s Four Holy Mountains. For more information, see www.vierbergelauf.info. Passing a small plantation of trees, you will reach our bench placed on top of a ledge, 30 metres high. Sit down for a while and take in the view over the lovely high valley that has served as the livelihood of so many people for hundreds and hundreds of years.

BLAZE OF COLOUR. Your route continues along a ledge and, in some places, steeply uphill; it was our grandfather who secured the path. Halfway up, you will glimpse the blazing colours of flowering cushions twinkling between the tree trunks. Study the natural beauty of these flowers that grow so delicately out of tiny cracks under such harsh conditions. Imagine the strength of these beautiful plants: Not only your eyes will delight in the blazing splashes of yellow, pink and purple and the many shades of green, but also your heart. PHILOSOPHIE. Something I ask myself quite often is what do I actually need to bring more colour, in other words, joy and happiness into my life? Are all these appliances and gadgets our civilisation has in store for us, all the things that we buy, really necessary? Is it not rather more likely that we just need more time and space to ourselves to properly perceive what is true and beautiful right here under our nose and to help us surrender to the colourful beauty of nature?
