Areas of industrial exploitation of sand and gravel near Rudniki, Cieciu?ów and Jaworzno. Today, most excavations are not exploited anymore. Silty materials are also excavated in the municipality; these include Jurassic silts and Pleistocene boulder clays. Silts are excavated in Faustianka, at the western border of the municipality. The deposit has been exploited for several decades and the raw material extracted from there is of high quality. It is then processed in the local brickyard, “Faustianka”, where we can find unique deposits of pearl ammonites, i.e. millions of years old mollusc fossils.
