Educational Forest Trail
Lasowice Wielkie Municipality, Forest District Office Kluczbork
The educational forest trail was opened in the forest district of Jasienie at the Seed Extraction Plant.
The trail was named after Janusz Goebel (a pioneer of forestry in the Opole region, in the past a forest inspector in the Kluczborsk forests). The route starts by visiting the Seed Extraction Plant, then leading through a wooden gate and over a bridge onto a small meadow. On the one side of the bridge there is an aviary for pheasants and behind it a corner devoted to birds inhabiting the forest ecosystem. Further on along the wooden footbridge there is a table presenting issues connected with small retention, a table illustrating hydrophytes and also a jetty with a beautiful view over the water garden as well as the rock garden with a water cascade. By the water garden grows a magnificent specimen of the hornbeam. The hornbeam is a freak of nature, full of bulges, twists, mysteries... Along the route there are also tables characterising the animals inhabiting the forest and feeding devices used by hunters: feeding racks and salt licks. Further on there is an educational trail leading through different ecosystems. Along the route there are picnic sites, there is also a wooden educational lean-to with a place to light a campfire, financed by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Opole. A part of the trail "Friends in the Forest” in the meadow adjoining the Seed Extraction Plant is accessible to the disabled. The length of the whole route amounts to about 1 km.
