During pig slaughtering in Silesia traditionally one of the products made is krupniok

:

Krupniok is a kind of product from the group: fresh meat and meat products. In appearance, it is similar to a brown sausage. In section the mixed ingredients of which it is made are visible. It is cylindrical, bent at the ends, which are tied with a cotton thread. Its section is circle-shaped (on the outside the intestine is visible, inside – the stuffing). Length – around 20 cm, diameter – 3 to 4 cm. Flavour – salty with a perceptible large amount of seasonings. Aromatic scent of cooked meat, fat and seasonings. The name of the product derives from word krup meaning groats. Krupniok is a traditional Silesian product made in villages during pig slaughtering. Women from the Silesian Women Association in Mionów organise tasting of krupniok, promote its production recipe and the interested people may taste the scents and flavours of a traditional pig slaughtering.
