Detailed description:

This wonderful sixteenth century complex is located in Prignano on the road to Sassuolo. It is worthwhile stopping here to see the wide open gallery, supported by columns with volume-sculpted capitals. The tower-dovecot has a cove edging and sandstone eaves. Situated just outside the village of Prignano, the town had "one house and six inhabitants" in 1641. In the XVI century it was inhabited by the Grimaldi family, followed by the Baldelli and Pellesi families who gave their name to the locality. These sixteenth century structures combined the defensive function with that of a food deposit. The massive, rectangular hayloft features a small lunette window high up on the front with brick fretwork and a rounded corner, approximately two metres in height.
