The tiny hamlet of Goldberg is situated at an altitude of 1,000 metres on the sunny slopes of the Gailtal valley in the southernmost parts of Austria. Hauserbauer farm is perched high above the valley in a secluded position, the very last house before the steep ascent to our alpine pastures. We’d like to invite you to a special bath in air and light, very close to our house with a wonderful view over the valley and the 2,000-metre peaks on the other side. And all of this at a proven power spot on the Goldberg: by the little church of Maria Hilf with its linden tree. In the 18th century this was initially the location of a wayside shrine and, later on, of the little church that stands here today.
Of power spots and sources of light. Power spots are not only found near water veins, but also in certain places in quite normal-looking countryside where they have an effect on body and soul. Sensitive people notice this instantly, and animals usually sense it even faster than we people do. Our dairy cows, for example, know exactly where these “good” places are and are often found there, taking a nap. Very close by there is a special place waiting for you where you can recharge your batteries: Settle down on our “slow down bench” in front of the little church and renew your vital forces by consciously soaking in the pure fresh air and the light; bathe in our fantastic mountain air that is able to stimulate blood circulation in your skin, thus helping your skin to breathe. We should really be doing this much more often during day-to-day life, since our skin is in urgent need of exposure to fresh air and light now and then. Light is the elixir of plants, animals and human beings. Sunlight, particularly, has a healing power. A well-dosed sun bath ensures relaxation, a cheerful mood and makes you feel good all over. Like the German saying goes: “Where the sun doesn’t shine, the doctor comes.”
Soak up as much as you like and savour it.
Of myths and legends. There is also an old legend attached to our accredited organic “Ernte” farm that tells you how our mountain got its name:
An old man told the Hauserbauer farmer that he’d had a dream about a treasure lying hidden in the farmhouse, underneath the stove. Back home, the Hauserbauer farmer broke the stone stove to pieces and, sure enough, he found a pot filled with pieces of gold. In return for his fortune, he had the church Maria Hilf built. Not only our farm, but the whole Goldberg mountain is steeped in legends. The people who used to live here a long time ago had a lot to do with gold.
A treasure is also waiting for you, dear guest: a treasure of contentedness and joy deep inside you! And, as we all know, that is worth a thousand times more than gold or precious stones.
We’d be delighted to help you find it.
